Sara Mathews a world famous horse whisper and trainer walked out of her office. Walking to the feed room she started to organize everything and took two flakes of hay for Ghost. She had took him back here seeing that he was not ready for the school. Slowly she walked down to his pen and threw the hay it. Ghost took a run at Sara but could not reach her. Shaking her head Sara walked back to the barn and to the tack room. She took a black lead rope and walked out again. She put it on Ghosts gate getting ready to take him into the round pen for a little one on one. He was going to be hard to work with but she was up for it.

Amber bounced along the path, leading Tim, a lunge rope in her hand. She was hoping to head down to the round pen to lunge him a little, as she'd lost a riding boot and was too embarrassed to tell anyone! So today she wore a pair of wellies, and was leading him down. She halted him when she spotted Sara with Ghost, ready to take him out. She'd only just learnt the most recent instructor's name, and had picked up her new horse's name only yesterday. Smiling shyly, she waved and went over.

Just in case Ghost didn't like other horses - she knew he was only starting to be worked, and was a rescue horse - Amber tied Tim to a ring with a quick release knot, and went over, making sure Ghost knew she was there, and kept well away from his back end, as she wasn't sure what he was like.

"Hi, I'm Amber." She greeted the famous horse whisperer, very excited. Suddenly, she bubbled it all out. "I've heard so much about you, you're amazing! I tried one of your training methods on one of my mares when she started bucking and it worked straight away and she was better in two weeks, going like she used to!" She squeaked quietly, still remembering Ghost's presence.

(He is a rescue, right? Eek, embarassing if he isn't xD)

Sara smiled. "Its nice to meet you Amber. I'm glad to hear my methods work." She said, smiling softly but the smile disappeared as Ghost reared up with ears back. He was getting a little angry since he hated being in the pen and would much rather be running in the field. "Its not you making him angry." She said, walking a little ways away from the pen. "Come stand here. Ghost probable is a little angry since I'm going to take him into one of the round pens and work with him." She said.

Amber watched the horse warily, not staring him straight in the eyes so she didn't scare him. She watched the rescue horse as he reared. He made no sound, just stared with raging eyes. Amber felt a stab of pity for the paint. What had he been through?

Sara walked away, so Amber followed. "I'm going to take him into one of the round pens and work with him." She said. Amber almost erupted.

"Wow!" She squeaked, clapping silently so as not to make a noise. "Can I watch? I mean, I won't come in or disturb you or anything, I'd just watch, honest!" The fifteen year old girl sounded strangely like an excitable six-year old at that moment.

"Sure you can." Sara said, with a smile as she picked up Ghosts lead rope witch was a the door and swung it toward him so he would run away, witch he did. Sara quickly walked in and shut the door walking to the middle. The paint stallion reared up again and then bucked toward Sara but his feet where a well two feet away.

Sara made some clicking noises and tossed the end of the lead rope at Ghosts feet. The broke into a canter throwing five huge bucks. Sara kept him moving by standing a little bit behind his shoulder. Sara tapped her thigh with the lead rope. "Good boy." She said, a couple minutes after Ghost had stopped bucking.

Amber watched with dewy eyes as the handsome stallion bucked and ran around the ring. She leaned against a tree and gazed as Sara drove him round, storing every detail as she flicked him gently to get him going - her body language, the sounds she made, her place and the horse's. Sighing, she wished she could do that kind of thing. Just to get the horse trusting her so utterly much!

Ghost slowed his canter a little and craned his neck. He was such a beautiful paint but so much work. He kept moving knowing that Sara could get a lot more scarier but didn't give in. He was to much of a 'man' to give in to her.

Sara drove him forward with has her hand and lead rope. She tried very little not to use her vocal commands but a couple of times she had to because Ghost slowed down. They did this for about fifteen minutes passed before Sara walked out letting Ghost take in what had just happened.

Sara walked over to Amber. "Amber I was wondering if you would like to work for me. I have bin looking for someone like you who could help me around my vet office and the recovery center. Only if you want to." She said.

Amber squeaked in surprise. "Oh my gosh! I'd love to!" She beamed up at Sara, then her face crumpled. "But I don't know anything about vets or horse training. Okay, so I can back a horse and teach it things but I can't do the join-up stuff or anything." Sighing, she looked at the handsome paint to avoid meeting the whisperer's eyes. She didn't want to show the complete disappointment that lay beneath her milk chocolate depths.

"Thats OK. I'll train you to do this and it will not just be you alone. Another student names Bell will be working but she works mostly in the morning. I also promise you wont work with the very wild yet. You'll start with my mare Angel and work your way up." Sara said looking over at Ghost who was standing at the gate watching. It was easy to tell he was curious about why everyone was standing around doing nothing.

Amber felt like she was bursting with happiness - like she could jump over the moon. "Are you sure?" She asked, then whispered. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" To herself, under her breath. Lost for words at this opportunity, she gazed at the stationary Ghost, looking curiously at them, as if he was saying 'What are you doing? I'm the important one here, so don't just stand still!' Grinning, she straightened up and pointed to him.

"How dare we ignore you, hey Ghost?" She giggled, and then looked at Sara. "Thank you so much." She whispered.

"I'm sure." Sara said as she took a step back and looked at her watch. "Tomorrow meet me at my office around two pm and well get started on your training." Sara said as she grabbed Ghosts lead and clipped his up and lead him away. As they left You could see Ghost trying to rush ahead and letting out a buck. He was going to be hard to train.

Amber laughed, then waved and called out a farewell to Sara, before going back to Tim and rubbing his nose, tickling his ears. He didn't like being left alone, and often sulked if she did, unless she apologised right away. He whickered in her ear, then followed her as she took of his lead rope and went into the tack-room to fetch lunging gear. He waited at the door as she collected the lunging caveson, the lunge line and his boots. She took them out, told him to stand and gently put all of the equipment on him. As she tightened the boots around his hooves, she reflected on what Sara had offered her. A chance to work with these poor rescues, instead of just winning, winning, winning. Its what her father wanted her to do, and she loved pleasing him but... his life wasn't hers.

Smiling, she skipped out of the barn, then opened the round pen and called Tim in. He trotted in trailing the lunging line. She ran over to pick it up and brushed off the dust, then clicked her fingers and he broke into a trot. Sighing happily, she watched him as he flowed around the ring. He was always so good in dressage and in-hand shows, thanks to his amazing voice commands. She'd had so many offers to buy him - the highest was $23 000 from one of her father's very very rich friends. But she could never leave him... even for millions of dollars. He was worth more than every last bit of money in the world.
